What Enterogermina is
- It is registered as a medicine: DRAP’s registry record lists Enterogermina oral suspension under pharmaceuticals, imported from Italy.
- We found no Pakistani leaflet for Enterogermina online, so no Pakistani document we could find states its condition of sale. We sell it without a prescription; the clinical facts on this page come from Sanofi India’s prescribing information and Italy’s product information, each named where it is used.
- Sold by the bottle: the boxes we sell hold 20 bottles of 5 ml, and our price is for one bottle. DRAP notifies no price for Enterogermina: its price index has no Enterogermina entry.
What is in it, with DRAP registration
From the label claim in DRAP’s registry.
| Product | Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Enterogermina oral suspension (DRAP reg. 069588) | Ingredient: Spores of polyantibiotic-resistant Bacillus clausii | Amount: 2 billion per 5 ml bottle |
Sanofi India’s prescribing information says the only other ingredient is purified water, and that any visible particles in the bottle are clumps of Bacillus clausii spores, which do not mean the product has gone off.
DRAP also registers a stronger Enterogermina, 4 billion in each 5 ml (registry entry); it is not the strength we sell, and its dose differs.
What it is used for
The labels word its uses differently, so each is shown.
| Source | Uses |
|---|---|
| Pakistan, Hoechst (product page) | Restores the right balance of bacteria in the gut in case of gastrointestinal disorder; management of diarrhoea in children and adults. |
| India, Sanofi | Treatment of alterations in the intestinal bacterial flora. |
| Italy, patient leaflet (translated) | Prevention and treatment of gut problems such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain and wind, and of vitamin deficiencies, linked to a disturbed gut flora, for example during antibiotic treatment; and treatment of acute and chronic gut problems in infants linked to poisoning or a disturbed gut flora. |
Sanofi India’s prescribing information says that, taken during antibiotic treatment and for the following 7 to 10 days, Enterogermina reduced abdominal pain and diarrhoea linked to the antibiotics.
How to take it
The dose depends on age, according to Sanofi India’s prescribing information for Enterogermina, which gives separate regimens for adults, children and infants. Follow your doctor or the pack.
- Shake the bottle before use, then drink it as it is or mix it in water or another drink, such as milk, tea or orange juice, according to Sanofi India’s prescribing information.
- Take it soon after opening the bottle, to avoid contaminating it, and at regular intervals.
- With antibiotics: Sanofi India’s prescribing information says take it between antibiotic doses.
- Storage: DRAP’s record says store it at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

Sanofi India’s prescribing information says Enterogermina has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines, and that it must not be taken by anyone allergic to it or its ingredients.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and babies
Ask your doctor before using it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or before giving it to a baby.

Checking your pack is genuine
As of 30 October 2026, a search of DRAP’s website found no alert, recall or rapid alert naming Enterogermina or Bacillus clausii.
- The boxes we sell hold 20 single-dose bottles of 5 ml; check that the box is sealed and the bottles’ batch and expiry match the carton.
- DRAP’s record shows a pending change of the holder’s name from sanofi-aventis Pakistan to Hoechst Pakistan, so a pack may carry either name. If a pack looks different from your last one, ask our pharmacist before using it.
- If anything looks wrong, do not use it. Send us a photo of the box and bottle on WhatsApp, and report it to DRAP.
We buy only from authorised distributors, and check the batch and expiry on every item before it is packed.
Information as of 30 October 2026. DRAP publishes new alerts on dra.gov.pk.
Returns and replacements

- Anything that arrives expired or within a month of expiry we replace or refund, your choice, with no time limit.
