What Neurobion is
Neurobion (vitamin B1 100 mg, vitamin B6 200 mg and vitamin B12 200 mcg per tablet) is used for nerve pain and inflammation (neuralgia and neuritis), such as trigeminal neuralgia, sciatic pain and lumbar and cervical nerve syndromes, according to Martin Dow Marker’s product listing. No Pakistani document we could find states its condition of sale, and we sell the tablets without a prescription.
- Neurobion tablets are DRAP reg. 001486 (DRAP registry entry).
- Long use of high-dose vitamin B6 can damage nerves: the Martin Dow Marker’s Pakistani leaflet for Neurobion Injection says neuropathies have been seen with more than 50 mg of vitamin B6 a day taken for more than 6 to 12 months, and each tablet contains 200 mg. Use it for as long as your doctor advises, and see the cautions below.
- DRAP notifies a maximum price for Neurobion tablets: Rs 1,503.01 for 100 and Rs 450.90 for 30 (DRAP price index, 23 July 2026). We sell a strip of 10 from the 100-tablet box at one tenth of that ceiling, rounded down.
- We found no Pakistani leaflet for the tablets online, only one for the injection, so this page names each source where it is used.
What is in each tablet
Three B vitamins, from the label claim in DRAP’s registry: “Each Film-coated Tablet contains: Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Mononitrate) ........... 100mg Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) ..... 200mg Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) .................. 200mcg”.
| Ingredient | Amount per tablet |
|---|---|
| Vitamin B1 (thiamine mononitrate) | 100 mg |
| Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) | 200 mg |
| Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) | 200 mcg |
In the European Union the same strengths are sold as “Neurobion forte” (Croatian product information), with thiamine disulfide as the vitamin B1. There is no Neurobion Forte registered in Pakistan.
What it is used for
Nerve pain and inflammation. The Pakistani and Singapore listings word it differently.
| Source | Uses |
|---|---|
| Pakistan, Martin Dow Marker product listing | Neuropathies (neuritis and neuralgia) such as trigeminal neuralgia, intercostal neuralgia, ischialgia (sciatic pain), lumbar syndrome, cervical syndrome, shoulder-arm syndrome, radiculoneuritis from degenerative spine disease, and facial paresis; also herpes zoster (shingles). |
| Singapore, Neurobion tablet | Neurological and other disorders linked to B vitamins, including diabetic polyneuropathy, alcoholic peripheral neuritis and post-influenzal neuropathies; neuritis and neuralgia of the spinal nerves, such as facial paresis, cervical syndrome, low back pain and ischialgia. |
How to take it
No Pakistani tablet leaflet is published, so take it as your doctor advises.
- The Croatian product information for Neurobion forte (P&G Health Germany), for the same strengths, gives it once a day, up to three times a day in individual cases, and says that after at most 4 weeks the doctor decides whether to continue.
- The Singapore listing says the tablets are swallowed without chewing, with a little liquid, with or after meals.
Who should not take it, or should ask a doctor first
From the Martin Dow Marker’s Pakistani leaflet for Neurobion Injection unless another label is named.
- Must not take it: anyone allergic to any of the vitamins or other ingredients.
- Tingling, burning or numbness in the hands or feet: the leaflet says the dose should be reviewed and treatment stopped if necessary, and recommends regular monitoring in long-term treatment.
- Children: the Croatian label rules out the tablets under 18 because of the high strength, and the Singapore listing says they are not suitable for children.
- Suspected vitamin B12 deficiency: the leaflet says not to use it before the diagnosis is confirmed, as vitamin B12 can blur the signs of pernicious anaemia.
- Leber’s disease or tobacco amblyopia (eye nerve diseases): the leaflet says not to use it, as these may get worse.
For comparison, the European Food Safety Authority set a tolerable upper intake level of 12 mg of vitamin B6 a day for adults, from all sources (EFSA, 2023). Each Neurobion tablet contains 200 mg.
Other medicines, alcohol and tea
From the Martin Dow Marker’s Pakistani leaflet for Neurobion Injection.
| Medicine or other | What happens |
|---|---|
| Levodopa (for Parkinson’s disease) | Vitamin B6 may reduce its effect. |
| Isoniazid, hydralazine, penicillamine, cycloserine | They may reduce the effect of vitamin B6. |
| Phenobarbital, phenytoin (for epilepsy) | The product may lower their blood levels. |
| Loop diuretics such as furosemide, long term | They may lower vitamin B1 levels. |
| Stomach-acid medicines, long term | They may lead to vitamin B12 deficiency. |
| Antacids; alcohol and black tea | They reduce how much vitamin B1 is absorbed. |
| Oral contraceptives | They may lower vitamin B6 and B12 levels. |
| 5-fluorouracil, altretamine (cancer medicines) | 5-fluorouracil inactivates vitamin B1; the product reduces the activity of altretamine. |
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The Pakistani leaflet contradicts itself: its contraindications say it must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding, while its pregnancy section says no risks are known at the recommended dosage and leaves the decision to the doctor.
The leaflet adds that the three vitamins pass into breast milk, and that very high doses of vitamin B6, more than 600 mg a day, may reduce milk production. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor before taking it.
Side effects
From the Martin Dow Marker’s Pakistani leaflet for Neurobion Injection.
| How often | Side effects |
|---|---|
| Frequency not known | Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain; reddish urine in the first 8 hours, usually gone within 48 hours; skin reactions; and, with long-term high-dose vitamin B6, peripheral nerve damage. |
| After high-dose vitamin B12 | Allergic reactions, eczema-like skin changes and a benign form of acne. |
| Very rare | Allergic reactions such as sweating, fast heartbeat, itching and hives, and anaphylactic shock: get help at once. |
Neurobion injection: into the muscle, not the vein
Neurobion Injection (DRAP reg. 001485) contains vitamin B1 100 mg, vitamin B6 100 mg and vitamin B12 1000 mcg in each 3 ml, and DRAP’s record gives its route as intramuscular (registry entry).
- The Pakistani leaflet says the injection should be given only into the muscle, not into a vein, to avoid effects on the heart, though its dosage section also describes slow, cautious injection into a vein.
- The carton in Martin Dow Marker’s product listing shows both “im” and “iv”.
- Foreign labels for the same injection say it is preferably injected deep into the buttock muscle (South Africa, Germany); the German label adds that, because of the risk of allergic reactions, only a doctor should inject it.
- The Pakistani leaflet says it should not be given to children under 14; the German label says not under 18.
- We don’t sell the injection online: it should be given by a doctor or nurse.
Checking your pack is genuine
As of 23 October 2026, a search of DRAP’s website found no alert, recall or rapid alert naming Neurobion.
- Check that the batch number on the carton matches the batch number on the blister inside, and that the pack is sealed.
We buy only from authorised distributors, and check the batch and expiry on every item before it is packed.
Information as of 23 October 2026. DRAP publishes new alerts on dra.gov.pk.
Returns and replacements
Medicines and supplements can’t be returned once they have left our pharmacy.
- Returned medicine can never go back into saleable stock. That is a safety rule, not a commercial one.
- If an item arrives damaged or wrong, tell us on WhatsApp within 24 hours and we replace it. That is us fixing our mistake, not a return.
- Anything that arrives expired or within a month of expiry we replace or refund, your choice, with no time limit.
Frequently asked questions
What is Neurobion tablet used for?
Neurobion contains vitamins B1, B6 and B12. Martin Dow Marker lists nerve pain and inflammation (neuritis and neuralgia), such as trigeminal neuralgia, sciatic pain, lumbar and cervical nerve syndromes and facial paresis, and also shingles. The Singapore listing for Neurobion tablet (same strengths, with thiamine disulfide as the vitamin B1) adds diabetic and alcoholic nerve damage.
Is Neurobion injection given IV or IM?
Into the muscle. DRAP registers Neurobion Injection as intramuscular, and the Pakistani leaflet’s warning says it should be injected only into the muscle, not into a vein, to avoid effects on the heart, although its dosage section also mentions slow injection into a vein. The South African and German labels say it is preferably injected deep into the buttock muscle.
Is there a Neurobion Forte tablet?
Not in Pakistan: DRAP lists Neurobion tablets, Neurobion Injection and Dolo Neurobion Capsule, a different product that adds the painkiller diclofenac, and no Forte. In the European Union, a tablet with the same strengths as the Pakistani Neurobion (vitamin B1 100 mg, B6 200 mg, B12 200 mcg) is sold as Neurobion forte.
Can I take Neurobion every day for a long time?
Only as long as your doctor advises. The Pakistani leaflet says nerve damage has been seen with more than 50 mg of vitamin B6 a day taken for more than 6 to 12 months, and each tablet contains 200 mg. The Croatian label for the same strengths says the doctor decides after at most 4 weeks whether to continue.

DRAP publishes no definition of this verification flag, so we can’t tell you what it means. We searched DRAP’s website for “Neurobion”, “Martin Dow” and “cyanocobalamin” on 23 October 2026 and found no alert naming Neurobion or Martin Dow; the cyanocobalamin results were recall alerts for other companies’ products. When we tested it, the search did not find a word that appears only inside an alert’s attached PDF, so an alert that names a product only in its PDF may not show up. DRAP describes its registered products index as a provisional list that “cannot be used as a reference for any purpose”. Checked against the registry on .
