What Panadol is
- We sell six Panadol products: Panadol 500mg tablets, Panadol Extra (paracetamol with caffeine), Panadol Extend, Children’s Panadol Drops, Children’s Panadol Liquid and Panadol Forte Suspension, the range Haleon Pakistan’s Panadol page lists.
- We do not sell Panadol CF, CF Day, Night or Ultra: each adds a second medicine to the paracetamol (see “Panadol CF, CF Day, Night and Ultra” below).
- We found no Pakistani leaflet for any Panadol product, so no Pakistani document we could find states its condition of sale. We sell the plain paracetamol range without a prescription.
- The maker’s Pakistani wording quoted on this page comes from Panadol Pakistan’s and Haleon Pakistan’s former websites, read as archived copies because the pages are no longer online.
Which Panadol: strengths, with DRAP registration
From the label claims in DRAP’s registry; all six contain paracetamol, and Panadol Extra adds caffeine.

The ages for the drops and Forte are from Haleon Pakistan’s Panadol page. The Liquid carton on Haleon Pakistan’s product picture says 2-12 years, while Haleon Pakistan’s former healthcare-professional page gives Panadol Liquid for 2 years to 6 years: follow the pack in your hand.
Haleon Pakistan’s former healthcare-professional page for Panadol Extend says Panadol Extend must not be sucked or chewed. Haleon Pakistan’s Panadol page says it gives relief for up to 8 hours.
Maximum doses and how often
Take it as the pack or your doctor directs. These are the limits in the maker’s Pakistani wording; the dose itself is on your pack.
- Panadol tablets and Panadol Extra: Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for Panadol tablets and Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for Panadol Extra say do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours, and not more often than every 4 hours.
- Panadol Extend: Haleon Pakistan’s former healthcare-professional page for Panadol Extend says do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours, and not more often than every 6 hours.
- Children’s drops, liquid and Forte: Panadol Pakistan’s former product pages for the drops, liquid and Forte each say no more than four doses in any 24 hours, at least 4 hours apart, and not for more than 3 days without medical advice.
- Babies under 3 months: Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for the children’s drops says that at 2 to 3 months the drops are for use under medical advice, as a single dose for a reaction to vaccination.
- Children and Panadol tablets: Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for Panadol tablets says they are not recommended for children under 6, and Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for Panadol Extra says do not give it to children under 12.
Where the Pakistani and UK labels differ
The age limits differ between the maker’s Pakistani wording and the UK labels. We show both; follow your own pack.
| Product | Pakistan | UK |
|---|---|---|
| Panadol 500mg tablets | Pakistan: Pakistan: adults and children 12 and over; children 6 to 11 at a lower dose; not recommended under 6. | UK: UK: adults and children 16 and over; a lower dose at 10 to 15 years; not suitable under 10. |
| Panadol Night (not sold here) | Pakistan: Pakistan: adults and children 12 and over; not more than 14 nights in a row without medical advice. | UK: UK: adults and children 16 and over; not more than 7 nights in a row without a doctor. |
Panadol CF, CF Day, Night and Ultra: not sold here
Each one contains paracetamol plus a second medicine, so never take one with the Panadol on this page.
| Product | What it contains | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Panadol CF | What it contains: Paracetamol 500mg, pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 60mg (a decongestant) and chlorpheniramine maleate 4mg (an antihistamine) | What to know: Panadol Pakistan’s former Panadol CF page says chlorphenamine may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision and psychomotor impairment, which may seriously affect the ability to drive and use machinery. It is not a non-drowsy medicine. |
| Panadol CF Day | What it contains: Paracetamol 500mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 5mg (a decongestant); no antihistamine | What to know: We found no “non-drowsy” wording on the Pakistani carton or on Haleon Pakistan’s former healthcare-professional page for CF Day, so we make no such claim. That page says do not take it for more than 7 days without speaking to your doctor. |
| Panadol Night | What it contains: Paracetamol 500mg and diphenhydramine hydrochloride 25mg | What to know: Haleon Pakistan’s former healthcare-professional page for Panadol Night calls diphenhydramine an antihistamine and sleep aid. |
| Panadol Ultra | What it contains: Paracetamol 250mg and ibuprofen 125mg | What to know: DRAP’s registry lists it as “Pandol Ultra” with paracetamol and ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory painkiller, and no codeine. Haleon Pakistan’s former healthcare-professional page for Panadol Ultra gives at least 8 hours between doses. |
Liver risk and other medicines: check first
Ask a doctor first if any of these apply, according to Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for Panadol tablets.
| Who | What the source says |
|---|---|
| Liver or kidney disease | Pakistan: underlying liver disease increases the risk of paracetamol-related liver damage; people with liver or kidney impairment must seek medical advice before taking it. |
| Severe malnutrition, anorexia, low body weight, or heavy regular drinking | Pakistan: liver problems and liver failure have been reported in people with depleted glutathione, such as those who are severely malnourished, anorexic, have a low body mass index or are chronic heavy users of alcohol. |
| Warfarin or similar blood thinners | Pakistan: prolonged regular daily use of paracetamol may increase the effect of warfarin and other coumarins, with a higher risk of bleeding; occasional doses have no significant effect. |
| Panadol Extra and caffeine | Pakistan: avoid too much tea, coffee and other caffeine drinks while taking it. UK: caffeine may increase the clearance of lithium, so use with lithium is not recommended. |
| Flucloxacillin | NHS: check with a doctor or pharmacist before taking paracetamol with the antibiotic flucloxacillin. |
Side effects
The NHS says paracetamol very rarely causes side effects if you take it correctly; these are the ones Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for Panadol tablets lists.
| Kind | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Blood | A low platelet count (thrombocytopenia). |
| Allergy and skin | Anaphylaxis and skin reactions, including rashes, angioedema, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. |
| Breathing | Narrowing of the airways (bronchospasm) in people sensitive to aspirin and other NSAIDs. |
| Liver | Liver dysfunction. |
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Plain paracetamol and Panadol Extra differ here, because of the caffeine.
| Product | What the sources say |
|---|---|
| Panadol tablets, Extend and children’s liquids | Pakistan: studies have not identified a risk to pregnancy or to the breastfed baby. NHS: paracetamol is usually the best painkiller to use in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. |
| Panadol Extra | Pakistan: not recommended in pregnancy, because of a possible increased risk of miscarriage with caffeine. UK: should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, because of the caffeine. |
Checking your pack is genuine
DRAP has warned about a counterfeit that looks like Panadol 500mg but is sold under another name. Check the name on the strip, not only the look of the pack.
- Check the carton: DRAP registers Panadol tablets in packs of 200, Extra in 100s, and Extend in 20s, made for Haleon Pakistan; the batch and expiry on the strip should match the carton.
- Children’s bottles: Haleon Pakistan’s product picture shows “Do not use if seal on cap is damaged” on the liquid; do not use a bottle whose seal is broken.
- If anything looks wrong, do not use it. Send us a photo of the pack on WhatsApp, and report it to DRAP.
DRAP Rapid Alert No. I/S/02-20-09, 6 April 2023: Paracetol 500mg tablets, batch 470, labelled as made by Roryan Pharmaceuticals, Peshawar, declared counterfeit because they resemble Panadol 500mg tablets by GSK, and unregistered: DRAP had cancelled Paracetol’s registration. Genuine Panadol was not named as faulty.
We buy only from authorised distributors, and check the batch and expiry on every item before it is packed.
Information as of 4 November 2026. DRAP publishes new alerts on dra.gov.pk.
Returns and replacements
Medicines and supplements can’t be returned once they have left our pharmacy.
- Returned medicine can never go back into saleable stock. That is a safety rule, not a commercial one.
- If an item arrives damaged or wrong, tell us on WhatsApp within 24 hours and we replace it. That is us fixing our mistake, not a return.
- Anything that arrives expired or within a month of expiry we replace or refund, your choice, with no time limit.
Frequently asked questions
What is Panadol used for?
Panadol is paracetamol, for pain and fever. Haleon Pakistan’s Panadol page says Panadol Extend relieves muscle pain, fever, joint pain, back pain and toothache, and the children’s drops and Forte suspension relieve fever and pain in children.
What is the difference between Panadol and Panadol Extra?
DRAP’s registry lists Panadol Extra as paracetamol 500mg with caffeine 65mg, and plain Panadol as paracetamol 500mg alone. Panadol Pakistan’s former Panadol Extra page says avoid too much tea and coffee with it, and do not give it to children under 12.
What is Panadol Extend?
Paracetamol 665mg in a modified-release tablet, according to DRAP’s registry. Haleon Pakistan’s Panadol page says it gives relief for up to 8 hours; its former healthcare-professional page says not more than 6 tablets in 24 hours, and do not suck or chew it.
How many Panadol can I take in a day?
Panadol Pakistan’s former product page for Panadol tablets says do not take more than 8 tablets (4000mg paracetamol) in 24 hours, and not more often than every 4 hours. Count every other medicine with paracetamol in it towards that limit.
Can I take Panadol with other medicines?
Never with another paracetamol medicine: Panadol CF, CF Day, Night and Ultra all contain it, and so does Nuberol Forte, according to DRAP’s registry. Panadol Pakistan’s former product page also says regular daily use can increase the effect of warfarin.
Is Panadol CF non-drowsy?
No. DRAP’s registry lists chlorpheniramine, an antihistamine, in Panadol CF, and Panadol Pakistan’s former Panadol CF page says it may cause drowsiness. CF Day has no antihistamine, but we found no “non-drowsy” wording on its Pakistani carton. We sell neither.
Does Panadol Ultra contain codeine?
No. DRAP’s registry lists Panadol Ultra as paracetamol 250mg with ibuprofen 125mg, an anti-inflammatory painkiller, and no codeine. We do not sell it.
Can I take Panadol in pregnancy?
Panadol Pakistan’s former product page says studies have not identified a risk to pregnancy, and the NHS says paracetamol is usually the best painkiller in pregnancy. Panadol Extra is different: the Pakistani page says it is not recommended in pregnancy because of the caffeine.
Which Panadol is for babies and children?
Haleon Pakistan’s Panadol page gives the drops for 2 months to 2 years and Forte suspension for 6 to 12 years; the Liquid carton says 2-12 years. They are different strengths, so use the measure and table on that bottle’s own pack.
What is the price of Panadol in Pakistan?
DRAP’s price index sets the maximum for Panadol 500mg at Rs 762.93 for 200 tablets, Extend at Rs 160.57 for 20, the drops at Rs 101.29 for 30ml, the liquid at Rs 155.26 for 120ml and Forte at Rs 142.45 for 90ml. Panadol Extra has no DRAP maximum. Our prices are shown above.

DRAP publishes no definition of this verification flag, so we can’t tell you what it means. We searched DRAP’s website for “Panadol” and “paracetamol” on 4 November 2026 and found one alert naming Panadol: counterfeit Paracetol 500mg tablets that resemble Panadol 500mg (under “Checking your pack is genuine”). When we tested it, the search did not find a word that appears only inside an alert’s attached PDF, so an alert that names a product only in its PDF may not show up. DRAP describes its registered products index as a provisional list that “cannot be used as a reference for any purpose”. Checked against the registry on .
