Hydrozole Cream 20g (Hydrocortisone and Clotrimazole)
Haleon Pakistan LimitedDRAP reg. 103151
Hydrozole (hydrocortisone 1% and clotrimazole 1% cream, by Haleon Pakistan) is an antifungal cream with a mild steroid: its carton calls it a broad spectrum anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory cream, and the UK prescribing information for Canesten HC, the same combination, lists fungal skin infections that also need rapid relief of inflammation such as itching. We ask for a prescription.

What Hydrozole is
- Cream only: DRAP’s registry lists Hydrozole only as a cream in a 20 g tube. There is no Hydrozole tablet.
- Clotrimazole treats the fungus; hydrocortisone, a mild steroid, calms the itching and inflammation. The NHS says medicines that contain hydrocortisone and an antifungal are used to treat nappy rash, thrush, ringworm and athlete’s foot.
- We found no Pakistani leaflet for Hydrozole, and the condition of sale on its carton was not legible in any image we found. Until the carton is read, we ask for a prescription.
- For a lotion with a different antifungal and no steroid, see Conaz (ketoconazole).
What is in it, with DRAP registration
From the label claim in DRAP’s registry; the carton names the steroid slightly differently.
| Ingredient | Amount per gram | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Hydrocortisone acetate | Amount per gram: 10 mg (1% w/w) | Source: DRAP registry (DRAP reg. 103151) |
| Clotrimazole | Amount per gram: 10 mg (1% w/w) | Source: DRAP registry (DRAP reg. 103151) |
The carton says “Hydrocortisone USP 1% w/w”, not hydrocortisone acetate. DRAP’s registry shows a pending change that would make the label claim plain hydrocortisone, which would match the carton; it is not yet approved.
DRAP registers it only in a 20 g tube.
What it is used for
The carton panels we could see give no list of conditions (the tube says “for sensitive, inflamed fungal skin conditions”), so the uses below are from the UK label for the same combination.
| Source | Uses |
|---|---|
| Pakistan, Hydrozole carton | Carton: “Broad Spectrum Anti-Fungal and Anti-Inflammatory Cream”. Tube: “for sensitive, inflamed fungal skin conditions”. No specific conditions named. |
| UK, Canesten HC | Fungal skin infections (dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, moulds, and Candida yeasts) where itching or other inflammation needs rapid relief; skin conditions with a secondary fungal infection; nappy rash with Candida; candidal vulvitis, balanitis and intertrigo. |
How to use it
Use it as your doctor directs: the UK prescribing information for Canesten HC, the same combination, says apply it thinly and evenly to the affected area twice daily, for a maximum of 7 days.
- Maximum: the UK prescribing information for Canesten HC says treatment should be for a maximum of 7 days, and long-term use on large areas of skin should be avoided, particularly in infants and children.
- Nappies: the UK leaflet for Canesten HC says take care not to fasten nappies too tightly over the treated area.
- When to see a doctor: the UK pharmacy leaflet for Canesten Hydrocortisone says contact a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days.
- Condoms and diaphragms: the UK leaflet for Canesten HC says that if you use it on the vulva or penis, use other precautions for at least five days after using it.

Checking your pack is genuine
As of 4 November 2026, a search of DRAP’s website found no alert, recall or rapid alert naming Hydrozole or clotrimazole.
- Check the carton: it names Hydrocortisone USP 1% w/w and Clotrimazole USP 1% w/w, in a 20g tube; DRAP registers it for Haleon Pakistan. The batch and expiry on the tube should match the carton.
- If anything looks wrong, do not use it. Send us a photo of the carton and tube on WhatsApp, and report it to DRAP.
We buy only from authorised distributors, and check the batch and expiry on every item before it is packed.
Information as of 4 November 2026. DRAP publishes new alerts on dra.gov.pk.

DRAP registration
- Hydrozole Cream (103151), Haleon Pakistan Limited. DRAP’s registry shows: Provisionally Active, “Not Verified”.
DRAP publishes no definition of this verification flag, so we can’t tell you what it means. We searched DRAP’s website for “Hydrozole”, “clotrimazole” and “hydrocortisone” on 4 November 2026 and found no alert naming Hydrozole or clotrimazole, and no alert about a hydrocortisone and clotrimazole cream. When we tested it, the search did not find a word that appears only inside an alert’s attached PDF, so an alert that names a product only in its PDF may not show up. DRAP describes its registered products index as a provisional list that “cannot be used as a reference for any purpose”. Checked against the registry on .
